About the Event

Free Y Thai for coming and learning a little something!

This program will help participants increase their understanding of Reproductive Justice for the 2SLGBTQIA+ Community and how to support the broader 2SLGBTQIA+ population.

This session will help you to:

  • General knowledge of 2LGBTQIA+ terminology.
  • Have a strong understanding of reproductive issues for the 2SLGBTQIA+ Community.
  • Be familiar with the reproductive resources available for 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals and their loved ones.
  • How to create safe and supportive healthcare environments for 2SLGBTQIA+ reproductive care.

Speaker:

Len Meyer (pronouns; they/them) is a noted speaker, consultant, and educator regarding transgender health care and LGBTQ+ health care. Currently, Meyer works as an LGBTQI+ Diversity Trainer. Meyer has previously served as the Downstate Community Engagement Manager at Planned Parenthood of Illinois and the Executive Director of the Central Illinois Pride Health Center. Meyer consulted with the Illinois Department of Corrections and was the previous Community Co-Chair for the HIV planning committee through the Illinois Department of Public Health. Additionally, Meyer served as a Transgender Trainer for the US Department of Justice in Illinois and Missouri. Meyer has both a bachelor's and master’s in healthcare administration services and is currently working on their doctorate in Healthcare Administration. Len believes in a pragmatic approach to teaching and facilitating with a DEIA lens focusing on understanding the health disparities and barriers to health, especially faced by the 2SLGTBQIA+ community. Len's eight-year career consists of supporting and educating students and staff about psychological safety and trust, allowing everyone to live their true authentic lives.
